As I have been telling you, the U.S. is headed for the “double-whammy” of both a DEPRESSION brought on by government policies and HYPER-INFLATION caused by the National Debt and continued, uncontrolled spending.
I am certainly NOT an investment counselor, but my suggestion is to invest a portion of your “extra” funds into non-perishable goods that you will need in the future – 25 year long-term-storage food, clothing, tools, non-genetically modified seeds, batteries, guns & ammo, etc. AND DON’T FORGET BARTER GOODS ! When the economy collapses we will live in a “barter economy”, so stock up on sewing supplies, matches, cigarettes, candles, etc. I have seen some suggest ammo for barter, but I would be VERY hesitant to provide ammo to anyone I didn’t COMPLETELY TRUST !
