Mitch McConnell Can’t Win

According to the polls, Mitch McConnell is likely to lose to left-wing Obama-Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes if he is the Republican nominee. These very same, independent polls show that I will beat her in the general election.

Republicans could waste our chance at retaking the Senate, all because Mitch McConnell is too stubborn and too arrogant to simply retire!

Make no mistake about it.  This campaign isn’t just about beating an ineffective leader who has refused to stand up to Barack Obama.
It’s about saving the U.S. Senate seat in Kentucky for the Republican Party and preserving our chance to take back the Senate.

Everywhere I go, Kentuckians tell me they want someone who will fight for conservative policies in Washington.  They want to be represented by someone who will stand up to President Obama and his increasingly lawless regime.
The path to victory in this race is very, very clear. However, Mitch McConnell’s special interest-funded campaign is blasting me every day on television.

Mitch would rather destroy me personally and ruin any chance of Republicans taking over the Senate than give up “his” Senate seat. He doesn’t care about stopping Obama or saving our economy.

This race is all about Mitch’s thirst for power and perks and holding onto this senate seat no matter what the cost. That’s what makes this U.S. Senate race so frustrating for voters.

Mitch McConnell won’t debate the issues.  His entire campaign is simply launching wave after wave of negative ads attacking me and my character.

And now that I’m closing in on him, Mitch is more desperate than ever. These negative ads are all that Mitch McConnell has left.  He has essentially no volunteers. Grassroots conservatives truly dislike him.

He has a track record of votes that he is unable and unwilling to defend.
He has no new vision for the future to present to the people of Kentucky.

All he has is a huge campaign war chest and a staff of D.C. campaign consultants who love to throw mud. Remember, if Mitch McConnell wins the Republican nomination, it looks almost certain that he will lose this seat in the fall!

House Votes To STOP IRS

Last week was a good week. We came one step closer toward beating the IRS.

You know the IRS proposed new regulations that will make it impossible for conservative groups to make their voice heard. And you know that if these rules are enacted, they will do enormous damage to our movement.

But you weren’t intimidated. Patriots like you submitted almost one hundred thousand comments to the IRS’s website. You forced the bureaucrats to listen. They know you care about your constitutional rights.

And it’s because of your activism the House of Representatives passed a law this week to delay the IRS’s speech-crushing regulations for one year. Every single Republican voted for the bill, and 14 Democrats joined them. 

It wouldn’t have happened without your effort. Thousands of patriots called their representatives and demanded Congress put a stop to the IRS’s intimidation. You got on the phone, and your representatives listened.

It’s a shame more Democrats don’t support this issue. Stopping the IRS’s suppression of free speech should be a bipartisan issue. Every politician in Washington should oppose this radical clampdown on basic, constitutional rights.

Now the fight goes to the Senate. We have to keep up the pressure to stop the IRS.

It’s because of your activism and passion for the Constitution that Washington is listening. We must stop the IRS to preserve our movement. With your help, we will win.

I love stories about Texas. You can just visualize It happening.

I have a friend who is president of his homeowners association in the Dallas, Texas suburbs. They were having a terrible problem with litter near some of his association’s homes. The reason, according to my friend, is that six very large, luxurious new houses are being built right next to their community.

The trash was coming from the Mexican laborers working at the construction sites and included bags from McDonald’s, Burger King and 7-11, plus coffee cups, napkins, cigarette butts, coke cans, empty bottles, etc. 

He went to see the site supervisor and even the general contractor, politely urging them to get their workers not to litter the neighborhood, to no avail. He called the city, the county, and police and got no help there either.

So here’s what his community did. They organized about twenty folks, named themselves the “Inner Neighborhood Services” group, and arranged to go out at lunch time and “police” the trash themselves. It is what they did while picking up the trash that is so hilarious.

They bought navy blue baseball caps and had the initials “INS” embroidered in gold on the caps.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand what they hoped people might mistakenly think the letters really stand for.

After the Inner Neighborhood Services group’s first lunch time pickup detail, with all of them wearing their caps and some carrying cameras, 46 out of the total of 68 construction workers did not show up for work the next morning — and haven’t come back yet.

It has been ten days now.

The General Contractor, I’m told, is madder than hell, but can’t say anything publicly because he could be busted for hiring illegal aliens. My friend and his bunch can’t be accused of impersonating federal personnel, because they have the official name of the group recorded in their homeowner association minutes along with a notation about the vote to approve formation of the new subcommittee — and besides, they informed the INS in advance of their plans, and according to my friend, the INS said basically, “Have at it!”

SO, FOLKS, I THINK YOU COULD SAY THAT TEXAS INGENUITY TRIUMPHS AGAIN!

They’re overseen by the three-member Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB), which was created right after Word War II. The VLB provides financing for Texas veterans at below-market interest rates.

The VLB originates the loans, not private lenders. All of these programs are almost entirely self-supported and cost Texas taxpayers next to nothing.

Veterans may have only one loan outstanding at a time. Couples (two married veterans) are also limited to one loan. These loans can only be used for property located in Texas.

Here are the five programs:

1) Veterans Housing Assistance Program

Allows veterans to borrow up to $417,000 for the purchase of a new home in Texas. This loan may be used along with VA, FHA, and conventional loans. Down payment amounts are determined by your lender.

2) Veterans Home Improvement Program

Gives veterans the opportunity to borrow money for home improvements and repairs on their primary residence in Texas. These loans max out at $25,000.

3) Veterans Land Program

Unique to the Lone Star State. Gives veterans the opportunity to buy raw land in Texas. The program is simple to use, and a 5% minimum down payment is all that’s required.

4) Texas State Veterans Homes Program

Offers affordable long-term nursing care for veterans, their spouses, and even some qualified parents. Stays are usually subsidized by the VA, so out-of-pocket costs are low. Provides high-quality, specialized care so elderly veterans can enjoy their golden years in comfort.

5) Texas State Veterans Cemetery Program

Offers free burial services for Texas veterans. Includes a free plot, free headstone, grave opening & closing, and perpetual care. Choose from various well-kept cemeteries spread out all over the state.

So, how do you know if you’re eligible for any of these programs?

VLB Program Requirements

1) 18 years of age

2) Bona Fide Texas Resident – means someone currently living in Texas who intends to remain a Texas resident. Texans on active duty outside the state may be considered residents.

3) Served At Least 90 Days Active Duty – Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Army, Navy, or US Public Health Service or 20 Years Military Reserve Service.

4) Served after 1940

5) No Dishonorable Discharge

6) Repaid Any Prior VLB Loans

Surviving spouses of Texas soldiers who are MIA (missing-in-action) or KIA (killed-in-action) may also be eligible for these programs.

So, as you can see, Texas takes care of its veterans. Visit the VLB website for more details. Fill out a certification form to figure out if you’re qualified. And remember, final decisions are made on a case-by-case by the VLB Board.
