I Just Realized Something:

My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day.

He has his food prepared for him.

His meals are provided at no cost to him.

He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup and again during the year, if any medical needs arise.

For this he pays nothing, and nothing is required of him.

He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep.

If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.

He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep.

He receives these accommodations absolutely free.

He is living like a king and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.

All of his costs are picked up by others who earn a living.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks ~

Have you noticed, the  Social Security check is now referred to as a

“Federal Benefit  Payment”?

I’ll be part of the  one percent to forward this. I am forwarding it because it Touches a nerve in  me, and I hope it will in you.

Please keep passing  it on until everyone in our country has  read it.

The government is now  referring to our Social Security checks as a   Federal Benefit Payment.

This isn’t a benefit  it. It is earned income! Not only did we all contribute to Social Security but  our employers did too.

It totaled 15% of our  income before taxes .

If you averaged $30K  per year over your working life, that’s close to $180,000 Invested in Social  Security .

If you calculate the  future value of your monthly investment in social security( $375/month,  including both your and your employers contributions) at a meager 1%  Interest  rate

compounded monthly,  after 40 years of working you’d have more than $1.3+ million dollars saved!

This is your personal  investment.

Upon retirement, if  you took out only 3% per year , you’d receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per  month .

That’s almost three  times more than today’s average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration

(Google it – its a  fact).

And your retirement  fund would last more than 33 years (until you’re 98 if you retire at age 65)! I  can only imagine how much better most average-income people could live in  retirement if our government had just invested our money in low-risk  interest-earning accounts .

Instead, the folks in  Washington pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie  Madoff ever did.

They took our money  and used it elsewhere.

They forgot (Knew)  that it was OUR money they were taking.

They didn’t have a  referendum to ask us if we wanted to lend the money to them .

And they didn’t pay  interest on the debt they assumed.

And recently, they’ve  told us that the money won’t support us for very much longer.

But is it our fault  they misused our investments?

And now, to add  insult to injury, they’re calling it   a benefit,

as if we never worked  to earn every penny of it.

Demand that our  legislators bring some sense into our government .

Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.    That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque.   We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, “The Turban Cowboy,” and the other a topless bar called “You Mecca Me Hot.”   Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called ” Iraq of Ribs.”    Across the street there could be a lingerie store called ” Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret,” with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.  Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop , “Koranal Knowledge,”  its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called “Morehammered.”  All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY PUT THEIR OWN MUSLIMS AND FAMILY MEMBERS TO DEATH FOR THE MOST MINOR OF INFRACTIONS, – –  so their mosque issue would not be a problem for others.  Yes, we should promote tolerance, and you can do your part by passing this on.  And if you are not laughing or smiling at this point… It is either past your bedtime, or it’s midnight at the oasis and time to put your camel to bed!

Dear Citizens,

Warrentless wiretapping of Americans. Record-breaking budgets. Spiraling new debt. Ever-increasing taxes. Corruption. Kickbacks. Out-of-control spending. It sounds like a political science horror film. But unfortunately, that’s about all we’re getting these days from Washington, D.C.

My name is Greg Brannon, and I’m running for the United States Senate to put the brakes on the out-of-control federal government and restore our God-given liberties.

I’m writing you today to introduce myself, tell you about my campaign, and hopefully, earn your support. I know you care just as much as I do about the future, so I want to know what you believe are the critical issues facing our state and nation.

I’ll get to the nuts-and-bolts of the issues in just a moment, but first let me take a moment to introduce myself to you on a more personal level. My younger brother and I were raised by a single mom in a working class neighborhood. She always set an example of hard work and determination. Her rules were simple — “go to school, go to church, or I’ll kick your butt.”

As a young boy, I always dreamed of becoming a doctor, and as a testament to my mother, in 1978, I earned a scholarship and became the first member of my family to go to college.

My wife, Jody, and I have been married for 25 years, and we have been blessed with seven beautiful children. Six girls and a boy. In 2004, God placed the idea of adoption on our hearts — and I’m proud to say that our three youngest girls were all adopted from China. Jody and I first moved to North Carolina back in 1992.

As a scratch golfer — and a life-time fan of Senator Jesse Helms — North Carolina was at the top of my list of where I wanted to live, work and raise a family.

So when UNC-Chapel Hill’s Area Health Education Center (AHEC) offered me a job in 1992, Jody and I decided we would make North Carolina our home.

And it’s been one of the best decisions of our lives. Over the last 24 years, I’ve been blessed to work as an Obstetrician — which means I’ve had the privilege of helping to bring more than 9,000 babies into the world. Like most North Carolinians, I believe in the traditional American values of individual liberty, hard work, personal responsibility, and faith in God and family.

And Jody and I do our best to instill these values in our children. But Jody and I don’t just teach our children traditional values — we also do our best to lead by example.

That’s why — whether coaching sports, leading a men’s Bible study group, volunteering at the local crisis pregnancy center, helping start a private Christian school, or traveling the world on Christian medical missions — I’ve spent time helping others.

But with the madness coming out of Washington these days, quite frankly, I’m concerned for my children’s future.

Of course, deciding to run for U.S. Senate wasn’t the easiest decision I’ve ever made. I’ve never held — nor run — for political office before. But as a father of seven beautiful children, and a doctor who can tell you the full nightmare ObamaCare will be, I can’t sit on the sidelines any longer and watch the establishment destroy our children and grandchildren’s future.

It seems like the establishment politicians have downright forgotten what made this country great. But it’s not just the big spending Democrats who are to blame for the mess our country is facing. Establishment Republicans are also at fault.

The Republican leadership in Washington has continually caved in to Barack Obama on everything from increasing the debt ceiling to weakening the filibuster to raising our taxes.

I won’t be that kind of Republican.

I’m not running for Senate to join the “good ole boys network” or become a member of the Big Government Republican establishment.  I’m running for Senate because, like the majority of North Carolinians, I’ve had enough of federal bureaucrats in Washington sticking their noses in our business.

I don’t want a government that seeks to control citizens from the womb to beyond the tomb (Death Tax).

I want to get Washington out of North Carolina.

If elected to the U.S. Senate, you can count on me to:

Cut Taxes. High taxes stifle innovation, destroy production, crush the middle class and the poor, and discourage investment. Every American is entitled to the fruits of their labor, and getting our government off our backs is the key to getting our economy moving again;

Protect our Second Amendment Freedoms. The Second Amendment is clear — the right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT be infringed. I will lead the fight to protect our God-given right to keep and bear arms, and will work to fully restore the gun rights of law-abiding North Carolinians;

Protect North Carolina’s Sovereignty. The federal government must be restrained by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and must stop regulating activities that are not within its authority;

Defend the Life of the Unborn. As a doctor who has delivered over 9,000 babies, I know firsthand how precious, fragile, and in need of protection human life is. I pledge to support all legislation that will reduce and end the horror of abortion in the U.S., both federally and at the state level.

My campaign platform isn’t complicated. I’m not running to create some new and expensive government program that will “fix” your life. I believe you should be in charge of your life and the money you earn. Of course, that’s not exactly “music to the ears” of the special interest lobby and establishment politicians in Washington.

They want to keep spending sky-high. And they want to elect and re-elect politicians who will keep the treasury doors open.

In this Senate election, they know I’m not “their guy.” I’m not running to represent them. I’m running to represent you. In times like these, I believe its critical good folks like you and me stand up for what’s right. We need more citizen-statesmen. We need fewer career politicians.

U.S. economic conditions in 2014 continue to languish, as millions of Americans remain jobless. Seven economic facts underscore America’s increasingly dire economic outlook.

1. A Record 91.8 Million Americans Are No Longer in the Workforce

The latest Labor Department figures reveal that a record 91.8 million Americans are no longer in the U.S. labor force. To be included in the Labor Department’s calculations for this statistic, a person must be 16 years or older, a civilian, not in an institution (such as prison), and someone who has not looked for a job in the last four weeks.

Minorities have been hit especially hard. As Dean Baker of the Center for Economic and Policy Research noted to PBS, last month’s jobs report also saw “the lowest rate of labor force participation among African-American men since we have kept that count. So that was really striking.”

According to the U.S. Census, 317 million people live in the United States.

2. Since Jan. 2009, the Number of Jobless Working-Age Americans Has Risen 9.6 Million People

As Michael Snyder notes:

The number of working age Americans that do not have a job has increased by nearly 10 million since Barack Obama first entered the White House. In January 2009, the number of “officially unemployed” workers plus the number of Americans “not in the labor force” was sitting at a grand total of 92.6 million. Today, that number has risen to 102.2 million. That means that the number of working age Americans that are not working has grown by close to 10 million since Barack Obama first took office.

3.  47.4 Million Americans Now Rely on Food Stamps

The Department of Agriculture, which oversees the food stamp program, says that 47,415,895 Americans – roughly one out of every six Americans – now receives food stamps. Indeed, for the last fifteen consecutive months, the number of individuals has consistently stayed above 47 million, a first in U.S. history. Food stamp enrollments, which are considered an indicator of economic distress, have skyrocketed in recent years as the Obama administration has loosened eligibility requirements and aggressively promoted enrollments. In January 2009, 31.9 million people received food stamps.

4. A Record 10.98 Million Americans Now Receive Disability Checks

 Social Security data reveal that a record 10,988,269 Americans now receive a monthly check for an average $1,146.43. Several recent studies and investigations have revealed that the nation’s disability program is rife with fraud and abuse.

 When health care for disabled workers is included, U.S. taxpayers now spend $260 billion a year funding the disability program – a figure that exceeds the amount spent on food stamps and welfare combined.

 5.  Nearly One in Three Americans Fell into Poverty Between 2009-2011

 A new Census Bureau report released last week found that 31.6% of Americans fell beneath the federal poverty line for at least two months between 2009 to 2011, a 4.5% increase over the 2005 to 2007 period.

 6.  42% of Americans Believe Themselves Worse Off Financially than a Year Ago

Gallup on Wednesday released its latest “Mood of the Nation” poll that found that 42% of Americans say they are worse off financially than they were a year ago, a number that has grown over the last two years.

 7. U.S. Debt Now Stands at over $17.3 Trillion

 America’s federal debt explosion continues unabated. In Jan. 2009, the national debt was $10.626 trillion. Today, America’s national debt stands at over $17,300,000,000,000.
